About an inch from the end of the mag on my 870 there are two tabs that hold the mag end cap in place. If I were to get a mag extention would the tabs have to be removed?

btw, a shell wont pass the tabs from the muzzell end.

Brownells sells a Magazine Dent Remover that is perfect for the job. Its kinda pricy for one time use. If you want, give me a shout and I can do it for you.

I've removed several by drilling most of it out with a 3/16 drill bit. Then I use the dremmel to smooth out the inside until the follower passes without sticking. I use cold blue to finish it off.
