With my Winchester 1300 it normally holds 4 in the tube but after a 400 round break in time it would then fit 5 in. Well I took of the barrel cap and saw that the spring cap had just worked itself out a  little bit and it was now taking 5 in the tube. I pushed the cap back in and it was down to 4 again. I was wondering if others have taken their cap out a little bit to get that extra shell in, would this cause any harm to the spring? Seems to fucntion fine like this.

Any ideas?
