ive decided to get out of the "Glock groove" and venture out to a new type of pistol. Ive decided to get a FNP-9. Anyone familiar with them? Im sure there are a few you guys who sport the FN! Any complaints? Pros? Cons? Quality? Accuracy?
From what ive read the major downfall is aftermarket parts and accessories, Not saying im already hunting to do some "upgrading" just saying. Im pretty excited. it's the matte stainless steel slide with plack frame, im assuming this is the most redially available model since my local shop seems to have more of them in stock than ant other model. Whats going price on new and use FNP-9's? Thanks in advance |

Hostile1; I got the FNP in a partial trade so i hadnt really priced the firearm or really considered it before it was offered to me. However I picked it up Friday and took it out to shoot Sunday and it is a nice shooter and has all the controls where i need them. I really like the sight picture compared to the Glock sights! Im still a Glock fan though I just might need another FNP in the stable.
BobCole; I agree after looking at the price on the gun at local shops and various online sources I agree definatly a great gun for the money. Its made especially well and is extreamly light! I too have a USP45C, although that is a top notch pistol i feel the FNP shot just as good if not better, it could just be me though. lol On a side note I looked up the FNX and really one see one diffrence in the pistol and that would be the rail system. That is really the only added feature that i think i would remotely benifit from. Im sure i will enjoy years of use from this FNP. I did get a FNP shooters pack with the gun i think is a nice added plus but i wont use it. I have already placed it in the classifieds for sale ;) |

I have an FNP9, FiveseveN, and a PS90. I love FN.
The FNP9 is a great pistol. I'm far more accurate with it than with my Glock 19 and I've enjoyed 100% reliability from it. Not a single FTF/FTE/Stovepipe/etc... I've had a few with my G19. The biggest problems I've found with it are, as you mentioned, the lack of accessories, especially holsters. If you are looking for a holster I recommend blade-tech.com (click) . From my experiences, the FNP loves running wet as hell. A;ways make sure it's very clean and oiled up like anything else. I think you'll definitely love the FNP, some people say that it's the best kept secret in modern handguns and I'd have to agree. Everyone who shoots mine loves it. |

Had mine at the range today. 150 rounds, no problems. |
| I own a FNP-40. Excellent pistol for the money spent, probably one of the best values on the market. It's very accurate once you get used to it. It is supposed to have interchangeable slide rails, so I don't know what this means for long-term durability. I have somewhere over 200 rounds through mine, and have had one failure to feed if I remember correctly. That was when I first started shooting the gun, my first magazine in fact. The spring may have bit stiff. Ever since, I haven't had one issue aside from the slide not locking back after the last round. It may be due to how I hold the gun. The slide finish gets scratched somewhat easily from my experience too. |
