I just saw one of these for $850 and only has 50 rounds thru it.  Is this a good deal or what?  I've seen many Ace's for over $1,000
Anyone got one, you like it, etc?

what condition?  it may have only 1 round tru it, but if it was absued, its not worth much then a project gun.

also, the value will depend on which ACE it is.  If its the series 80, then ive seen them from 900 ish on up depeneding on the condition and what the person THOUGHT it was worth.  if its an older version, the 1k+ on up depending on condition.

if youre going to buy it, and its an 80s version, make sure all of the parts are there and intact.  sometimes the ejector and or extractor is broke.

also, my 80s ACE front sight flew off since they were staked on, some didnt hold up well.  but they can be replaced.  The floating chamber on my ACE will also lead up alot.  there are suppose to be some remidies for it, like teflon lube in the chamber and/or use copper plated 22s.  Btw, i do like mine and its fairly accurate for a convesion.  if you want a "target" gun it isnt.

many questions- is it an Ace or an Ace conversion? Original Ace guns command a high price. Is it postwar or prewar? Prewars once again bring top money. Commercial or military? You really need all the info you can come up with when in this market There are so many variations and models that its real easy to get bite when buying on of these. Series 70 and previous models should be given particular attention to the firing pin retainer, break or crack very easily and are extremely hard to find. If you just want a shooter I would go with a Kart or Marvel or even a Ceiner conversion on a 1911 style frame.   Good luck and be careful
