THinking about getting one (black widow or minimaster) as a more of a range toy than anything.  Those of you who have them have any gripes with them aside from the price being a tad high IMO (which obviously isn't doing its job keeping me away.)

I have one in .22LR with the standard rosewood (?) grips - its pretty much a range toy IMHO. Difficult to grip and aim... the sights suck so bad I'm lucky to keep my hits on an IPSC target beyond 5yds. I love mine, but when I CCW I carry a real gun. Price is OK... how much cheaper do they need to be ?

The black widow is a pretty cool gun.  It is easier to grip than the standard ones and the longer barrel gives it a little more sight radius and velocity.  I got the one with 22lr and 22mag cylinders.  Don't know if I would carry it, but I bought a front pocket holster for it anyway...

They are a great novelty I shot mine a lot, but it's not what I carry.

I carry mine on occasion, usually when I'm dressed up & have a shirt tucked in. My NAA is the folding plastic handle that doubles as both grip & carry handle.

Easy to shoot, pretty accurate for 5-7 yards. Reloading is not the fastest in the world though.

My .o2

You bring a sharp stick & I'll bring my NAA .22mag & we'll see who cries first, eh?

+1

I don't think I would feel undergunned with my .22Mag

I have been carrying a 1 1/8 22 lr since 1977. I don't shoot it a lot, but it is my "Oh sh#t" gun. It is rarely my only gun, but it is very rare I don't have it.
As long as you keep it's limitations and intended purpose in mind, it is a great gun. I figure if some "youngster" sees an old fart and tries to take advantage of him, I can very nervously offer the keys to my (what ever nice car is sitting close by I can point to) and hope he instructs me to give him the keys. I am confident I can distract him w/ my itty bitty gun long enough to get to my real gun.

I'm looking at a Pug model ( I thinkthat was the name) in 22 magnum. Looks bad ass! How many rounds will these hold up to? Will it still be tight after 5,000 rounds?

They hold 5. Can't make an accurate comment on their condition after 5000 rounds. I doubt it was the designers thoughts that one would be fired so many times in it's life. It is my opinion the NAA Minis were intended as a very short range, last ditch, it-has-already-hit-the-fan emergency weapon. As such, a great deal of practice is not needed for such close work.

You could pose that question here and get a reliable answer:

I bought my NAA Mini Revolver back around 94' or so.  Its a 1 7/8" .22LR model with small wood grips.  I call her "Always" cause she is so small that she's always with me even when carrying something bigger.  Been shooting her lately about 30 rds ever month for the last 3 years (except when I'm deployed).

So that is 1080 rounds or so. How many total since 94 would you say? I'm trying to get a good idea of their longevity. Is yours still tight like it was new? I'll probably shoot mine a lot so I need something that will last for many thousands. Plus when my kids are old enough they will be shooting the hell out of it too!

Not that much been deployed alot.  I would estimate that there is over 600 rds through it.  Grips are starting to come a bit loose (I do carry it in my front pocket), that I have to check to ensure they are tight.
