I recently bought one of these for my wife and took it to the range today. I had nothing but problems with it. I started out using CCI minimag which jammed or failed to fire about 3 to 4 out of every 10

rounds. Next I tried federal wally world ammo but had the same results. Tried changing the spring....still didn't help. Went back to minimag...nothing. Overall I shot about 300 rounds through it and it only

seemed to get worse. I talked to the range office who told me of the 50 or so of them he's seen he said they have all be a piece of sh**. Is there anything I can do or is this common with this pistol? I had

really high hopes for this pistol and my wife loves it but needless to say we ended the day pretty frustrated . Any advice would be greatly appreciated....Thanks!

First you probably need to send it to Sig and see if they can fix it.  I have no idea what their CS is like.  When you get it back sell it and get a Ruger or a Buckmark.  I personally have never had one, but I do have 2 friends with them and they have had the same problems.  From reading threads here they seem to be hit and miss just like the P-22's.

edit...I am guessing you bought this new?  If not did you give it a good cleaning first? Most everything 22 runs ok on Minimags.

I have one and I haven't had any major problems with it.  Sure there is a few FTF or FTE's here and there, about one or two every 30 rounds, but being that it's just a plinker, I can live with that.  I'm not sure if it may be a problem, but I've noticed that the chamber is a little tighter fitting than my other 22s.  I just run a bore snake through it every 100 rounds and it keeps going all day.  If your still having issues, send it back to sig.  I haven't had any personal experience with their customer service, but I've herad that they are pretty good.  I hope it works out for you.

I'm planning on getting a Mosquito soon, and after hearing about some issues with it, I found this link: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/4101021231

Hopefully I won't have to use it, but it appears to help those with Mosquito problems.

If I remember right I think Sig changed their Magazine design like 2 or 3 different times, and they are supposed to have a letter designation or stamp that tells which Mag is the newer/best one.
I remember I was looking for a .22 Plinker for the Wife and I found a Sig and S&W on sale, did the Google thing and found a lot of bad stuff about both of them so I bought a Browning Buckmark like my other one and have been happy ever since.
I may be wrong on the Sig with the letter stamp but there was a .22 with this problem, hmmmm maybe it was Walther?

Thanks for the help guys. I just decided I didn't feel like dealing with it so I traded it in for a Ruger Mark III today. I lost money of course but at least I know I have something reliable.

True, but I've owned many Ruger Mark series pistols in the past, many people I know own at least one, and all of them have been extremely reliable. With the sig mosquito it seems that its almost 50/50.

At least now I feel comfortable knowing that my chances of having a reliable pistol are MUCH higher and if I did happen to have a problem Ruger would definitely fix it. It's sad though, the mosquito seemed

to have so much potential (looks, feel)....too bad they don't work for half the people who buy them . SIg should be embarrassed..... it's not like my story is a isolated incident, instead it's problems are

WAY too common for any company, much less from such a reputable one.
