Used the link to do mine. Very helpful.  I will add, though, you can use small files to trim out the safety catch and the takedown pin holes so you don't have to remove the grips every time you want to take out the FCG to give it a good deep cleaning.

What kind of Pac-lite upper is that on the green one? I though the shortest they made was 4.5''.

Why doesn't Ruger just make this modification standard on this gun?
They market it as the 45 grip on a 22 anyway.

I took a slightly less aggressive approach.  It needed to have some material removed from the area right under the rear of the trigger for my second finger.  Added some finger grooves while at it:

I like this a lot. If I could bring myself to remove plastic I would do it. I prefer Hogue type grips with finger grooves.
