Alright,
So let me state that I currently have a Buckmark 5.5 Target and it's fantastic.  Anyway, how does the URX series compare to the "regular" framed ones?  I'm thinking of getting another Buckmark to "build up" with a tac-sol threaded barrel, scope rail, etc.  I'm just not sure whether I should try the new URX or just go with a standard.

I'm under the impression that the grips from the standard frame & the URX are not interchangeable. (but have not owned a URX version yet, to verify that with)

The only other real recent change that I'm aware of, (since the slide modification, where they added the "ears") is that they've been using loc-tite on the barrel mounting screws recently. I had a hell of a time with a Camper model a couple years ago, and read several versions of the same problem on RFC.

It's still possible to R&R the barrels, but not as easy as it used to be.

That's all I can think of. Maybe others will have more info to offer.

I had heard that also, and talking to a guy at a local shop confirms it. The URX uses different grips.

I was going to ask the same question. BassPro has a regular Buckmark and a Hunter. The Hunter is only $30 more and has a longer barrel (7.5"), scope base, Hi-Viz front sight, and wood cocobolo grips. Seems like a lot of extra features for just $30.

I have a URX and it does an excellent job of positioning your grip the same way every time,it feels good. Standard Buck Mark grips will not fit and it will be a while before the aftermarket catches up. Everything else, barrels, etc are interchangeable. I bought a standard 1985 model to use for a project including a threaded TacSol barrel, scope mount, red dot etc. I recommend that you buy the Hunter as they are hard to find. Regards

I just bought the last one here in atlanta today.

Total impulse buy but at $330 it seemed like a steal.
