Hi guys, I'm interested in getting a plinker, but I would like to find one that can hold at least 15 rounds in the clip. Any ideas? |

Asides from the Calico .22s with the 50 or 100 rnd mags, you might have a hard time finding one. I've read a few places that guys with P22s have modified their magazine followers to hold two more rounds (a total of 12). I've heard of similar modifications for the Ruger pistols. Maybe your best bet would be one of the new Ruger Chargers, that takes 10/22 mags. It isn't what I would consider a "plinker", and IIRC they don't make one with iron sights. |

Ciener conversion: www.22lrconversions.com/hi-cap-mags.htm 1911A1 full size and Commander Units - 15 rounds Hi-Power Units - 14 rounds Beretta and Taurus Units - 15 rounds and "NEW" for Beretta - 25 rounds (@ $75.00) Glock 17/22 Units - 15 rounds Calicos are another option, but less conventional. ETA, there are also some 10/22 based handguns out there, but they're not traditional handguns, either. |

duh, do you want a hand gun or rifle? how much are you willing to spend????? for hand guns. theres the no longer made Intretec Scorpion 22. it uses the 10/22 mags. calico also made a handgun that used the helical 50/100 round mag. if you can find one, theres the belt fed Browning 1919 in 22lr (beltfed). Its considered a pistol due to its bbl and its permanently fixed to the tripod. for rilfes. Jager/Mitchel made/imported some assult rifle copies in 22lr. they all use the same 30 round mags. theyre not made/imported anymore, but can be found. theres the new GSG-5. its a HK MP5 clone in 22lr. IIRC 30 round mag. then theres the american 180. 177/277 + round drum mags. if you really want some fun, get an AR lower and then the Lakeside beltfed 22 upper. lakeside also made the Vindicator. its a beltfed 22. |
