Hello, I just bought a used .22 Browning Buckmark from a guy off of gunbroker who described the gun as "Like new in box-less than 20 rounds fired". I had a very poor experience as the gun arrived with a missing sight base washer, damaged firing pin and a notched barrel presumably from excessive dry firing. When I took it down it was also very dirty under the grips. Should have paid $50 more for a new one! The ejector seems very flimsy and weak on this pistol. I can wobble it around from its mounting point using my finger. The ejector istelf doesn't bend but it moves around inside the little hole that it sits in. Does anybody know if this is normal or do I need a new ejector. I only shot about 40 rounds through it in my garage and didn't have any failures however. Thanks for your help. John |

The ejector is just a spring rod that clips into the frame. It will wiggle a bit if you play with it since since it just C clips into the fame. The extractor should be fine as long as the tip is still sharp (has not rounded from use). The real problem may be the dimple in the chamber face if you are having ejection problems. Take the pistol down to a smith and have him use a chamber iron to clean up the chamber/face inner dimpling (get the chamber back to round). As for the FP, push on the back of it and confirm that it's tip will not protrude past the outer surface of the slide breach face. Also take a look at the FP retaining pin. It would take a hell of lot of dry firing to oblong or bend the FP retaining pin/FP limiting lob, and chances are some one did some tinkering with the FP limiting lob to make it protrude farther out and cause the breach face dimpling (read FP tip should not protrude to the end of the slide front outer surfaces/touch the barrel). |
