My wife took her P22 on it's maiden voyage today.  It had several failures to eject.  We tried three different brands of ammo and cleaned the chamber.  Nothing seemed to matter.  I am going to send an e-mail to Walther about having it sent in for repair, but I thought I would pick your brains about easy fixes to common P22 problems first.

Any input or advice would be apprecieated.

Thanks,

Jay

Pretty common problem with a lot of P22s.  Was one of the types of ammo you tried CCI Mini-mags?  If it won't run on those, then it needs to be worked on a bit.  My G/Fs P22 will only run on the higher power ammo, and hasn't liked any of the bulk pack rounds.  She has tried about 10 different types of ammo in it, and most haven't worked.  CCI Mini-mags work every time, all the time.

The one plus, is that it has given her a lot of experience on properly clearing a jammed weapon..!!!

If you go to the Walther section here on ARFCOM, and look at the tacked thread at the top "How I made my P22 not suck", there are quite a few easy things you can do to make it more reliable.  Good Luck.

I love my little P22 , and it works perfectly , But I think it was Designed by a
Former German Rocket Scientist.

Soooo many little springs and parts.

And despite being made mostly of polymer and powdered metal , the parts are
fitted with NO clearance for dirt or gunk - the thing HAS to be clean to run.

Use full power ammo with 40gr bullets - make sure your magazines are the latest
version - and use a DRY synthetic  spray lube. (teflon or moly based )

Make sure the Ejector is not
Bent or rubbing against something.

good luck
