As for the others I have no experience with can can't offer an opinion on them. Ruger M&P |

try the new ruger sr-22 you will like it. +1! In the new class of recent .22's, a definite winner, especially at ~ $299.00. The M&P .22 is also a great choice & can be had for as little as $329.00 (what I paid for mine). The GSG/Sig 1911-.22 is also a good choice, mine has been stellar, but the zinc alloy slides are prone to breakage (not as bad as the Mosqitos & P22's, though) & they are a bit more money. Both the M&P & the GSG/Sig come from the factory with threaded barrels, ready for an adapter to run a suppressor or other muzzle device. The SR22 is supposed to already have a threaded barrel available as an add-on, but they have not yet materialized. Then, of course there are the old stand-by reliables - the Ruger MK pistols or the Browning Buckmarks, either of which will easily serve for lifetimes. |

I love my siq mosquito after i broke it in she never hickups a bit i have heard bad things about them but i have had no major problems with mine. Any issues I had SIG took care of them free of charge even after my warranty was up. Quoted:

My gsg 1911 is a little finicky. It likes to run wet to get the best performance out of it. Otherwise I get FTF with anything but CCI. Wet it will take Federal bulk. It seems to really like the high velocity stuff.
If I had to do it again id get the m&p. Heck I might just sell this for one. Reliability is a biggie for me. |

Handled the Mp. 22 today. Didn't like the weight of it. Very light. Then held the 9mm Mp andnthat had much more of a solid feel. Only $100 difference. Wish the mp22 was in the low 300 range. Weird, as S&W has them both listed as 24 oz. Bud's Gun Shop has them both listed as 24oz as well. |

Just purchased a Sig Mosquito with the threaded barrel from a fellow AR member.
I've heard the horror stories as well but I got the gun for an EXCELLENT price. Shot the gun last night using a maroon box of federal bulk ammo that was at least a year old. Fired 200 rounds thru it with ZERO malfunctions. Tried a clip of Remington subsonics, 8 out of 10 rounds were malfunctions. The absolute key to the mosquito is KEEPING IT CLEAN! Since my mosquito was already broken in I can't speak from experience. But from what I've read, if you buy a brand new one break it in with 3-500 rounds of CCI Minimags, then should be able to rock n roll with federal 550 pack. If you start getting malfunctions, time to clean it. This gun is now a permenant member of my collection and I wish I would have bought one sooner!! |

congrats on the Sig!
I've found that most .22 pistol malfunctions come from lower velocity ammo that doesn't have the "umph" to cycle the slide with authority. Try a peppy .22 round like a remington Thunderbolt or high velocity CCI stingers and i'll bet your Sig won't malfunction even when it gets dirty. |
