I guess Browning now has the 1911 in 22LR

It's 85% the size of the 1911

Handled one at the NRA show; beyond superb. But...

The GSG 1911/22 also packaged as the SIG 1911/22, and the Umarex Colt 1911/22 has it beat in terms of real-deal 1911 parts compatability due to true-scale size. And of course price.

What is the Browning price?

Supposedly $550.00.

The potential for galling with both slide & frame being aluminum concerns me.

I have handled one of these that our Browning rep brought into the store.  To compare it to one of the Umarex pistols is like comparing a Glock to a HI Point.  Maybe not the best analogy but the best I could come up with right now.  It is 100% US made, the fit and finish on the one I handled was superb, and I cannot wait to own one.  It just feels solid, and really cool.  We ordered a bunch of them and I will own one out of the first batch and report back here.

Great, looking forward to your reviews. It is good to be in a gunstore.

As I said; "has it beat in terms of real-deal 1911 parts compatability due to true-scale size. And of course price."

Love to have that sweet baby Browning 1911/22, but for the 6-bones, I can find a "Colt 1911/22" and another GSG 1911/22 to keep my GSG 1911/22 company. Or a low-end .45 1911.  Let us know about the aftermarket for that Browning.

We'll be waiting for your review.

I wouldn't mind a scaled down version of the 1911 in .22lr... Could be a fun shooter.

Between this Browning and the Super Single 10, I plan to go inside a gunstore again.  Soon.

Talked to our Browning guy today and he says we should honestly have them this month.  I hope so, really looking forward to it.

Pretty cool, not sure if I will buy one but I think it is going to sell well. Hoping someone posts some pics in this thread.

Does it share parts commonality with the real 1911s like the GSG 1911-22s do?

Not to my knowledge, but I highly doubt it.  It is 85% scale compared to a 1911.
