So I had a thread earlier about needing a Sem-Auto 22 for NRA instruction, and needed some help figureing out what I wanted. I think I have it narrowed down to these 2 Pistols. I have heard most of the pro's and cons on each, but I still can't decide.  Does anyone have some first hand experience with either of these 2 "SPECIFIC" pistols? I can oder either one I think from my local dealer for about 360.00...maybe a little more on the Ruger.

Thanks,
Tony.

Yes, I have the blued version of the Browning. Supurb accuracy with average ammo. Needs to be slightly oiled to run perfectly, but othewise a perfect .22 rimfire, IMO.

I have a blued Browning Buckmark UDX Plus, a Ruger 22/45 RP, and a Ruger Mk III w/a 4" tapered barrel. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE shooting the Browning, but a problem with numerous FTE with anything except CCI Mini Mags (which I hear is unusual). I replaced the barrel with a TacSol and replaced the extractor with a new factory. The problem has been eliminated.

The Mk III shot pretty much anything, but also had a few FTE (mainly stovepipes). Applied the same corrections to it as the Browning, TacSol barrel and a new VQ extractor. Bear in mind, these were both bought used, so I have no idea how many rounds went through them before me.

The 22/45 was bought new, and I have yet found a round it will NOT shoot. Probably put 800 plus through it in 2 trips out, and it shoots everything I feed it. I bought a VQ extractor for it, but am going to hang on to it till needed.

As to their ergonomics, I prefer the Browning, Mk III and then the 22/45, in that order, for shooting. YMMV!
