yes you can shoot 22LR in 22Mag.  however, chances are the cases will splt.

if you look at the 38 & 357 they are the SAME cases but the mag is ~ 3/16" longer.  If you take the time to measure the 22LR and 22Mag case, you will find they are different in diameter.

its your choice how you decide to use your guns.

It is not a good idea to shoot .22lr in a .22 mag chamber. Not only can the cases split, but the bullets are unsupported until they reach the end of the chamber. They get off center and when they hit the shoulder at the end of the chamber, it shaves lead off the bullets and the lead builds up at the end of the chamber.
Gas also goes around the bullet before it reaches the bore/throat and a lot of velocity is lost.
It is not the same as the .38/.357 revolver where both have the same diameter case.
You have a convertible revolver, take advantage of both cylinders, or you may end up having a bad day.

In my early years I shot some .22lr in a .22mag single action revolver.  One of the shots didn't make it out the end of the barrel and I had to tap it out with a rod.

I strongly advise against it.
