| Can a 22/45 mk3 upper be used with a standard mk2 lower? |
|
I have a 4 1/4", maybe 4 3/4" Target 22/45 upper on a MKII frame...that size barrel made only one year.
I recall a wee bit of filing on the rear inside of the upper, but that was years...and many flawless rounds ago. I think the loaded chamber indicator shouldn't matter in the swap. |

I have no experience with the MKIII. I do have a few MKII's and a TacSol barreled receiver and have found that some will swap and others won't. The MKII's are a couple 22/45's and a Government Target.
The TacSol will go on a couple different frames but fits each one differently. It will fall off one frame (unless the mainspring assembly is installed) but I need a mallet to get it on another. The Ruger barreled receivers are pretty much the same story. I forget which combination it is but there's one that refuses to go together. They look like each has its receiver hole mashed in slightly to fit the hook on the grip frame it comes with. |
