| What is Arfcom's take on it? Also as a sidebar, will it work on double stacks like a Caspian Recon? |

I don't see it solving any problem of mine; but I know how to sensitize my grip safeties so they disengage with nearly any grip. It's not cheap to have installed, either.
It ought to work on the doublestack frames since they use the same MSH and grip safety as 1911s. |

Also I think I would like the feel of it. |

Not sure what you're after, but Novak has always worked for me. http://novaksights.com/customguns/1911/answer.html the answer is a part and service offered by Novak that eliminates the grip safety on a 1911 style gun here is a pic of one installed http://novaksights.com/assets/images/guns/photogallery1911/pages/1911fullhouseR_jpg.htm |

I've been looking into this as well, but it turns out it's a Novak-only install –– i.e. you have to send your frame in, there's no DIY option w/ this kit. As for whether or not you'll like it, I'd say you should use tape or dental floss under your grips to see if you like the feel BEFORE you spend $800. And if you want something a bit cheaper, a good option I've seen is pinning the grip safety to the MSH. Also, if you want to simulate the Novak product, you could have the grip safety and MSH welded together –– either gunsmith or DIY (depending on skill). It looks just as good, assuming your grip safety and MSH are fitted properly and it would be MUCH cheaper. And after you paint it, if that's the look you're going for, I doubt most would be able to tell the difference. Either of these options would give you so many more choices for look and feel –– e.g. smooth, chainlink, 30 LPI, "golfball", curved vs. straight MSH, etc. Something to think about... SB. |

If you know of a good grip safety MSh combo that would look good welded up let me know. I just don't want any bumps or protrusions on the back. I think you're talking about a grip safety w/out the memory bump. But I'm not sure if you meant you wanted a smooth MSH or not. For example: Grip Safety MSH This should get you started. Look around and find some you like –– texture-wise. Note: Since these are going to be welded, I'd get the SS versions then paint them. Good luck. |
