Looks beautiful now. Please post pics when it's done. I've got 6 more single stacks to build. After that I think I'll try a double stack. Any real difference in how they go together? Not really. The plastic frame must be removed in order to install or remove the trigger, but everything else is identical to the 1911. |

Great work Ken! Let me ask you, what is your budget for this build? And if I understand, the 2011 FCG is the same as a single stack with the exception of the installation? I don't have a budget per se, but my objective is to equal or exceed STI factory parts, without going "price is no object." Here is a partial list from memory: Kart .45 W/N ramped bbl EGW angle bored bushing, FPS Heinie rear sight, Novak front Nighthawk sear STI disconnector, hammer, slide stop, grip safety Ed Brown grip safety, firing pin Wilson BP extractor C&S pin kit Caspian ejector All the fire control parts are 1911 with the exception of the trigger, which is specific to the STI / SV frame. The frame kit included the mag catch, trigger, MSH and its pin. |
