I picked up an Ultra Raptor II (internal extractor) a few weeks back. The past 2 trips to the range I've had lots of FTE's (at least that's what I think it is, check the pic below).  Sometimes it will go 2 or 3 mags without a problem and sometimes it happens a few times per mag.  The spent casing was halfway or so out of the chamber and the slide was stuck open with the next round jammed into the bottom of the spent casing. This happened with the factory Kimber mags, Wilson Combat mags, and Chip McCormick mags.  I also tried the Winchester White Box ammo, the Winchester SXZ45 training ammo, and the Remington Yellow Box stuff from Bass Pro.  Any ideas what could be causing this? Do I need to tune the extractor?  The gun was clean and has been cleaned after each trip to the range. Also, prior to going to the range today, I took the slide apart and cleaned the extractor and the hole the extractor fits in.  It's new so I'd imagine it's not the springs but I'm no expert. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for the help.

That appears to be a FTE, and the first culprit would be the (improperly tensioned) extractor. If this is a new pistol, Kimber needs to properly tension/replace the extractor and I would raise hell that they issue a call tag so you don't pay shipping if one isn't offered. If this is not a new gun, you can also try to properly tension the extractor yourself (there are 1001 resources on/off the internet on doing this).

Here is a way to test your extractor.  If checking with live ammo, do it at the range, facing in a safe direction.  If checking at home, use dummy ammunition.

Chamber a round.  Pull back on the slide gently, so as not to hit the ejector.  Check to make sure the round tips down towards the ejector.  If it does not tip forward and down, it is time to re-tension or get a new extractor.  If it does function properly, check your chamber to see if there is leading in the chamber that may be producing undue pressure on the sidewalls of the case.  If not, consult your local gunsmith.

Yep. I had the same problem with another 1911. Adjusted the extractor and it ran perfect.
