Sexy I wish they had prices on the site. In my mind if they dont tell you the price up front either I dont want it or I cant afford it

They list the MSRP for the "Scorpion" as $1199.  Couldn't find a price for the "AWP".  They look interesting, would be nice if the rollmarks were a little smaller, or not there at all.  If you click on products and look at the Scorpion pic, the beavertail doesn't look like it's fitted very well at all, hopefully that isn't how they will all be.  At least is says they are 100% made in the US, and they have a fully transferable lifetime warranty.

Something called the "stinger" on there is $1499 if you click on their order form.  Nice to see the 1911 continue its popularity but the market is so saturated with 1911s from so many different manufactures I'd rather see more inexpensive basic 1911s come into play that are of good quality. Top one in my book right now is Rock Island Armory. I wish RIA made a railed version of their 1911s.

Roll marks turned me off on this one... I like the sleek flow from the slide release to the safety... looks sleek... but other than that, not a fan... plus, as was mentioned... so many 1911's around this price point, and if I'm spending that much it's gonna say Springfield or Colt, most likely... (more likely Springfield )

Looks like they'll need to learn how to fit a grip safety if they want them to sell at that price point.

I have seen them at the local shows.   I don't know if what I saw was what they're listing on their website, but I can tell you I wasn't impressed with what I saw.  The quality of the parts and build was something that I personally wouldn't be interested in owning.   I don't recall seeing any checkered or "premium" guns, for what it's worth.   They would have to be a hell of a lot more impressive than what I saw before I spent Baer money on one of them.

A friend also recently bought a frame and slide from them.  I would put them about a notch below Essex from what I saw.   The frame was cast, and there were plenty of casting "smears" on the dust cover and frontstrap.   He wanted me to put together the lower for a MechTech CCU upper.

Dimensionally, the frame was in pretty good shape.  Everything seemed to be where it was supposed to be.   There was plenty of casting flash along edges and in holes, and there were a couple rather obvious casting flaws that needed some filing to remove.  The trigger bow track needed a lot of opening up before the trigger would go into the frame, and the area
under the disconnector hole needed some work because it was so tight the sear couldn't freely rotate on its pin.  The frame tangs appeared to be pre-cut for the Brown high grip beavertail.

The parts seemed serviceable for a beater-quality 1911 but I wouldn't bother with them for a serious build.

Update:

I saw a used CO Stinger in a local shop here for $650.  It was a compact, had a bull barrel and some slide lightening cuts around the front sight.  The frame was the same cast frame that I'd seen before, cleaned up a bit.  Fit and finish wise, it was comparable to the Rock Island stuff.  Trigger was OK, at about 4 pounds.  Had some Gunkote-like finish that had begun to wear on the high spots, and tthe slide was covered with some pretty hideous CNC-engraved graphics.   Novak knockoff sights, and the rest of the parts were about of the same quality.   GI-type grip safety.
