| Looks like a Series 80 Colt... Officer slide mounted over a full frame, the Colt interpretation of a Springfield Champion. They have made similar 3.5"/full frame offerings before or after this one (night officer and tanker models spring to mind). It certainly holds some sort of value as an oddity or rare Colt. As a practical pistol it's too short up top to be a service/duty pistol and too long down below to be a deep cover CCW. That makes it a wash in my book, or a roundabout way of saying it's as worthwhile a pistol as you (the buyer) deem it. |

Looks like an Officer size frame to me. It looks an awful lot like my series 80 Officer except the grips are wood on mine.
ETA....went to the safe and got out the Officers Model. Same as your Recon, mine has a darker parkerization and walnut grips with a gold Colt medallion. Mine has a little more wear, I carried it for a long time. |
