Is it possible to change adjustable target sights on a 1911 (Sig 1911 target here, to be specific) to novak or combat style sights? Im still learning sights on the 1911 platform but i have a target stainless and id like to explore the option of switching sights for carry duties. Thanks.

You options are verry limited, Heirloom Precision, I think, makes a fixed sight for the Bo-Mar cut.

Novak cut (or any other cut for that matter) would require the slide to be welded up and re cut.

harrison custom is the rear sight you seek.

I think Heinie also makes (made??) a sight that replaces the adjustables. I know they had one that would fit in the kimber's cut. They were much lower than the harrison sight too. I know Heinie is semi retired now , so I don't think he would install it, but I think you can still order the sights, last I knew... www.heinie.com   Ahh turns out he does still do installs....but I don't see a sight that would be a direct fit, naybe you could shoot him an email?

I've been shooting the local rifle league using an old school  1970's bullseye gun (w/ heavier recoil spring).

I'll tell you what, there is no combat sight on earth that is faster to pick up than the GIANT front sight post of a Bo-Mar target rib!
