Who does it best? Not willing to do it myself so I'm thinking of getting it done by a professional which I clearly am not.  |
If you are talking about bobtailing the frame and not the safety. I just had my local gunsmith do it, any smith that can build a 1911 can bob it too! He did a great job turn around time was about a month. Cost me 200 bucks and that included re-powder coating the whole frame fresh.

Certain ones may require more fitting and possibly some welding. Lew Bonitz at Grizzly Customs has treated me well. |
