Is there any difference between the Kobra model and the Special Forces model?  Other then the Gen III coating and chainlink treatment or snakeskin treatment.  Are the internals or materials any different?

The authorities on the subject that post on the dedicated Brown 1911 forums claim, as stated, that the important innards and fitting of all Browns are the same.  Have never seen that claim directly from Brown, but it sounds good.  Other higher end 1911 mfgrs (like Wilson) freely admit that their higher end pistols get upgraded components and more hand fitting.

that would not surprise me with Wilson. He has way more models than Brown does and they range in price more too. Brown seems to have only a few and are close in price.

You guys are right the basic components and fitting are the same.  The difference is checkering, sights, but really they are all very similar in design.
