I just picked up a new TRP and have shot about 100 flawless rounds this week. I want to make this one of my carry guns as well so I want to replace any MIM parts that might be an issue. I know the slide stop is one but are there others that I should replace as well.
Thanks |

Thanks According to a "Google" search, Hammer, sear, disconnector, slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release, firing pin stop, MSH, plunger tube, grip safety and i think extractor, ejector. (SA Loaded, info from 1911forum.com) I have no knowledge about SA MIM from personal experience.

What is your reasoning to replace the MIM parts. I have a SA TRP no mods and not one of the MIM parts have given me an issue. Same with both my Kimbers.
I would say unless you have problems with the MIM parts I would not just run off and replace them otherwise you should have bought a different pistol that did not use MIM parts. The price you paid for the TRP plus replacing all the parts and new Armory Kote would cost you as much as a brand new Ed Brown or Les Baer. |

The extractor/ejector and the slide stop are the only things I'd really even consider, and frankly you'd be better served to spend the money you would have replacing those parts on better magazines and practice ammo.
For what it is worth, the only change I have done on my TRP is replacing the 2-piece FLGR with a GI setup from EGW. |

I don't like lawyer locks As mentioned above, transitioning to an OEM mainspring housing assembly with a 23 Lb spring will reduce your trigger pull by a couple pounds. |
