SA parkerized Loaded.
First 206 rounds through it, not a single malfunction. LOVE THAT! Using only the factory mags and 200 rds of blazer aluminum case 230g FMJ Last 6 rounds were W silvertip, 185g HP (what I intend on carrying until I can find some Gold Dots up here) Only concern was accuracy, using a rest, at 10 yards, it's impacting about 3" to 4" low and left (about 45 degrees down/left) Did this with both ammo types. Any suggestions? Should I bother to contact SA with this, or just live with it?, or will it improve with a couple hundred more rounds through it? It's my first 1911... |

I have the same 1911 I had the same EXACT problem..l 4' low and left.
I solved it by tapping the rear sight right a bit. I solved the low problem by practice. I shoot alot at work and just knew it was the gun. However when a co worker of mine who is used to shooting 45 acp 1911's shot it he was on the money. My shots were 5 inches low at 10 yards in a small ragged hole. His were in the X. How? each time I shot, I anticipated the shot and droped the muzzle the exact same time/way. Try using a little less finger on the trigger and using the occasional dumy round to see if you dip the gun when you drop the hammer on the dummy. my .2c |

Focused on front sight, but front post is aligned evenly with rear sight, and then intended point of impact "resting" on top of front sight post
I shoot my other handguns the exact same way with no problems...although, like I said, this is my only 1911 I kinda doubt it's because of anticipating recoil, because I also have and shoot a S&W .500 magnum pretty frequently... and that's a hell of alot less friendly to shoot! ETA Thanks for the feedback, it's what I'm looking for |
