I see the FLGR as a solution looking for a problem. That and the only 1911 I've ever used one in has bad reliability problems, so I really don't like them.
All the 1911s I've built or will build contain GI guide rods. I like the simplified takedown and being able to push on the plug to perform either a one-handed slide rack or a brass check. |
| I could go either way. I run a short GI now, but will be switching to a FLGR (one piece) for reasons mentioned in this thread. |
