I have a railed TRP and a MC Operator. My TRP has the bull barrel and therefore does not have a barrel bushing. If I wanted to swap out the TRP guide rod to the style that is in my MC Operator what would be the best item to use without having to mod the pistol? Not necessarily going to do it, just wanting to know at this point.

Change over to a standard barrel and bushing then drop in a GI rod and spring bushing.

Is that custom work or is there anything that would just "drop in" without fitting?

With the bull barrel you will have to have the guide rod that is in there already.

+1, as long as you have the bull barrel you are pretty much stuck with the full length guide rod.  Probably not worth it to buy and fit a new barrel just to be able to swap guide rods.  I would just run it as-is.

I have heard that the bull barrel TRP's have the cut for the bushing setup.  If you have the MC Operator, I'd pull out the barrel and bushing and GI guide rod setup in it and try it in the TRP.  I might not fit perfectly, but it'll give you an idea of whether it will work.
