It can be milled for either, but be aware that if you go with the Bo-mar cut, you have exactly one option if you ever decide to go to a fixed sight. IMO, the Novak rear Lo-mount cut accepts the widest array of quality aftermarket sights. Good point..I'm putting a 10-8 rear on my Colt, which takes the Novak cuts. |

I got another question... how in the HELL is one supposed to know what height front sight he should get for a given rear sight? Purchase high and file down, or contact the manuf of the sights tell them what you have what load you shoot and they may just be able to help you out. |

My problem is that I did have a set of Meprolights...rear sight was adjustable and went into the GI rear cut, front site was a stake on. Front sight wasn't well staked and flew off the other day. To avoid this problem, I'd prefer to go to a dovetailed front sight. Have no idea which one I should get, and the height of the Mepro front blade isn't published anywhere on the web, at least that I can find. |
