Springfield all the way!!! No external extractor that makes the choice for me.  Also the Sig the slide has different contour/shape so not all holsters will fit well.

I may catch hell with this, If they are the same price....go with the SIG. Especially if this a range, and not CCW firearm.

Why go for the Sig???? Quality holsters are harder to get and external extractor two down sides to the pistol vs the SA.

I went through a similar dilemma recently and went with the Springer, I have been very happy.  External extractors don't look right on a 1911 and I wasn't very impressed with the fit and finish of the Sig.

Wouldnt need a holster if its only a range gun

Sig and Smith and Wesson are imposter 1911s IMO.  External extractors suck, ans Sig doesnt hold true 1911 tolerances.

Springer on this one

I like Target sites on my range guns also....I have nothing against SA. I have a TRP Operator,as well as a Sig....I like the looks of the SS Sigs and they are very accurate. The extractor thing isnt a big deal for me.  I think the loaded are nice guns, but I would take the Sigfor the same price

Just because it is a range gun does not mean the OP would not want a holster.  I know lots of people who do not have pistols and they have holster for practice at the range for drawing and holstering.
