Got myself a Springfield Mil-Spec.  Added a flat checkered mainspring housing, an 18# recoil spring, a longer trigger and some VZ Operators.  I think she's pretty hot.

Now that's a nice looking pistol.. Good job. I'm thinking about putting the vz grips on my 1911 as well.

these operators are very nice.  i'm impressed.  i used 1911 grip store on ebay.  they end up being 65 shipped as opposed to plus shipping.  he's a great guy to work with too.

I was two seconds away from picking up one of these on Wednesday.  I opted for the Colt series 70 instead.  I really want to add another Springfield to my collection, but I am going to wait until I get my tax return and buy a TRP.

I just can't satisfy my appetite for 1911's.  In the past three months I have picked up three new 1911's.  I am up to 5 now with the addition of my Colt, and the craving is still not tamed.  I just want to keep buying more.  Should I see a Dr.......I have a 1911 tapeworm.

Sweet Mil-Spec bro.

thanks guys.  shot great yesterday. 75 rounds, no malfunctions.  although I also rented a full auto M4 with an AAC can at the range as well.  it wasn't really as cool as that one.

I am trying to decide on grips for my new build when it comes home- I have what I would call "soft" hands and worry that the operators would be too harsh/abrasive- what is your opinion of how they feel when shooting extended strings of fire?

they're pretty rough.  i would go with gators or aliens by vz
