Site Anyone have an experience? Searched here and nothing came up - and the one or two threads from the archive mentioned him not selling small parts anymore. A few other 1911 forums seem to have some positive things to say. Interested in ignition sets, specifically. |

I was more curious to see if anyone had any experience since I've never seen them mentioned here. |

e-mail or call him. He is active on a 1911 site and yes he does sell parts. They are not listed on his web site but he sells hammers, sears and maybe other parts. His hammers and sears are the same ones used by another brand name company (C&S) only he gets them from the supplier and sells them for less.
I think his main business is gunsmithing and selling parts is second, again get in contact with him and ask. |
| There was a Dave Berryhill ( 1944 west north lane #3 Phoenix ,AZ 85021) who was a gunsmith here in Phoenix who was a retired LEO. I had 2 Sig's (1) 226 and (1) 220 done by him about 4 years ago . He did a Comp carry trigger job on them and replaced some springs . He had said it would take 2 or 3 weeks ,turned out to be over 2 months . He asked if I wanted the trigger finish to be natural steel color (unfinished) he was very keen on doing it unfinished I said no ,and told him to reblue it or leave it the way it was (blued and in very nice shape ). When I picked up the pistols ,sure enough they were unfinished . I asked him what happened and he told me that he was having trouble with his bluing tank or something ,so he left it unfinished . I figured by his attitude and tone of his voice when I picked them up to pay him and move on . If this is the same Dave Berryhill ,then you better get everything in writing B4 he starts . He doe's things his way in his time ,weather you like it or not . I have used many gunsmiths in the past 39 years ,and never had this kind of service B4.Some have taken slightly longer ,and called me to tell me there would be a slight delay. None have ever taken so much longer than they quoted ,or returned the weapon done the way I did not want . None have ever had the attitude he did . If his is customer service and attitude has gotten better great ,if not LOL. |
