| I'm starting to look at compact 1911's for carry use. I recently saw a Citadel 1911 (commander? Compact? I just started to look at 1911's so I'm not all up on the lingo) for only $540. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard anything about citadel and their 1911's. Is it something you'd trust your life to? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
| I trust my life to a 1911 but I do not have experience with the citadel line. If it passes the test run it, run it hard, and run the ammo you intend to carry if you have no issues go with it. Personally for a carry pistol I would spend more on a higher brand but who knows... the times I have heard about them they were good. No bad reports but very small sample for me to indorse them. |

I had a Citadel Officers model and loved it. It shot great and never had any issues but I sold it so I could buy something nicer. I still recommend them to people for an inexpensive 1911 that shoots well.
Definately shoot the hell out of it if it is to be a carry gun, like you would with any gun, make sure it's dependable. |

Citadel is just an upgraded RIA. That said, I would buy it without hesitation now that I own (and love) a RIA Tactical. Stupid thing chews through anything I feed it without a hiccup. |
