I just purchased a nice little Colt Commander Lightweight....  The weapon is in nice shape however has what I have been told is called "idiot scratches" scratches from putting the slide lock back into place.....  Is there an easy fix for this being that it is an alumnimum frame or should I just try to send it back to colt???

Al frame it is probably got a groove ground into the frame I have one on my SA that I just bought but I am going to have it refinished it has only scratched the blueing layer off and a slight surface scratch that will come out.

Is yours Aluminum frame or Steel?  Can you post pics?

If it looks like this, re-anodization is going to be it.

Is their a depression in the frame from that?  If so you will need to sand the metal to get the depression level or blended better because if you just refinish/anodizing will still show the gouge in the frame.

there are two small gouges and a long scratch that does not appear to be in the metal. The more I look at it the better it looks...  lol Does any know how much it would cost to have the finish redone??
