Are any of the drop in triggers (sear and hammer combo) worth much as far as a carry-trigger goes?  I have the ability to do the installation, but don't really want to do the sear and hammer fitting myself.
Do these kits need to be fitted in each specific frame for frame-frame variation, or are they good to go and just drop in?
Thanks!
Edit:
I was looking at this:

I am up for spending a bit more money too if it will give better results.

That set up will drop in.... It will require set up in a sear jig to get  crisp break. The C&S trigger group kits are completely finished and ready to drop in. A good one for carry would be the tactical 2 Brownells# 206-103-052AC.... here are more options 206-039-002AC, 206-039-003AC. Nowlin - Brownells # 654-012-110AC. Nowlin would probably be my choice for quality and price.

ETA: Both kits will drop into your frame using existing pins provided we aren't talking Taurus. Colt, Springfield are gtg.

+3 to Cylinder and Slide, though they have no finish on them so you will need to address that.

I went with the C&S 4.5 Tactical Match kit & couldn't be happier. Instant trigger job....everything dropped right in.

What does it not having a finish mean to me?  What do I need to address?

Thanks

You can, or cold blue which has come a long way in the last decade as far as looking good compared to years ago.

meh, phsst. finish what ? i don't want to come off wrong here. whatever you did for " finish " you'd have to " polish " off. They're drop in kits. You just drop them in.... keep oil on them and be done with it... you put any finish like blacken or blue and you'll have to take part of it off to keep your light trigger pull.... here's C&S's number you can ask the horse himself (402)-721-4277. Don't forget about Nowlin... Top shelf parts and service. Their kit has 3.5lb trigger pull at a better price than C&S... Nowlin phone #(918) 342-0689. I really should start charging advertising fees for these companies. Call these two, they are stored in my speed dials and are always glad to help when I call.

ETA: Almost forgot, Good Luck and Have Fun. If you have anymore questions feel free to IM me....it's free.
