I've got a custom2 that I really lucked out on, no reliability issues or anything like that.  However I would like to make it a better all-around target pistol and I am considering a few parts to upgrade the pistol, especially the "bad" kimber parts like the plastic MSH.  Here are some parts I had in mind, and I do have access to a gunsmith.

You should get a mainspring housing with a magwell for one.

Get a Smith and Alexander MSH with magwell instead of the Ed Brown, or get the Ed Brown with a magwell.
