Does anyone here has a RIA with a round count above a couple thousand ? how do they hold up ?...i have heard that some people have some issues with the sear causing hammer follow ect.. ?
anyone ? |
| I've only got about 8 or 900 round through mine but it is asked all the time HERE I've never read about any consistent issues with the sear. David |

Mine has well over a 1000 through it between the prevoius owner and me. It has had no problems at all. I refitted a new barrel bushing and that helped it cause the factory one was really loose. Mine is an Armscor labeled one but is the same as RIA.

thats a nice looking 1911.
I already have a XD45 compact but there just something about the 1911 that i love....i sold a springfield GI a few months ago due to it bitting the crap out of me and me not having the time or money to install a grip safty and hammer. I tend to take my pistols to the range alot and the weapon is likely to get a high round count...im just looking for something that wont take 8 trips to my gunsmith to keep running..I heard that some people change out the internals which isnt out of the question for me but of course id rather not have to lol.... I have heard the C&S kits are pretty good. |
| I shot an IDPA match a month or so ago.....there was a new guy shooting and we all (SO's) gave him a hand with the rules (safety, course of fire, etc.).......He was shooting what appeared to be a commander or smaller 1911. He was slow but almost every round touched each other on the board......It was an RIA......his accuracy was amazing. He said he target shoots exclusively. I hate to see what he does when he figures out how to play the game........ |
