My Springfield groups nicely but it fails to load the last round in the clip. All it takes to chamber the round is slight pressure on the slide. I have tried another mag and it has the same result. I am a 1911 novice, but I think it has a problem with the feed ramp. Is the feed ramp the problem and if it is can I fix it myself or is this something that needs to be addressed by a gunsmith?  Thanks for the help.

What make mags and how "used" are they?

They are factory mags. The gun has less than a hundred rounds through it.

Many 1911s need a bit of "break-in", most kinks get worked out by 500 rounds.

That said I agree with SGB that you probably should try some non-factory magazines, sounds like a mag spring issue.

Might potentially be a slightly too-tight extractor. My Springfield had that with brand-new factory mags and with McCormick PowerMags, about a year and a half ago now when it was new. After a bit of break-in and checking the extractor tension before and after, I noticed that a) it was feeding a lot better afterward, and b) the extractor tension wasn't quite as high.

Just a thought, based solely on my personal experience with one Springfield 1911.
