If you looking for the MSRP 1911's.
Just pick up a copy of the Guns and Ammo "The complete book of the 1911" magazine. In the back is a buyers guide, listing all , or most of the manufacturers of 1911's . Specs/picture/MSRP.

We are glad to help you, but you need to narrow the field down a bit.
You can get into a new factory 1911 for sub $500.00 all the way up to a Semi-Custom for north of $4,000.00
As you can see, there is a lot of real estate in between.
A good solid starter 1911 is the Springfield Armory GI, can be had around 5 bills.
Want something with real nice fit and finish that needs no upgrades or excuses, look at a Dan Wesson, but cost basically doubles.
Only want to cry once and have a gun that takes a backseat to none, look at a Ed Brown, starting around $2,000.00

You can look at my "Colt Combat Elite Range Report" to see some pics of my new Colt. I paid $890 because I got beat out on an auction for one at $850. But, I've seen my local shop wants $1100 for the same gun.

Except it should be shorter by 3/4".

Colt NRMs usually retail at around the $800 mark. XSE's retail in the $900s.

A Dan Wesson CBOB runs about $1000 these days, I believe.
