Hello Again

I would like to know what is the highest rd count you have put on a 1911?
With only changing the Recoil and firing pin spring also the brand of 1911.

I kinda thought it would be interesting, to hear what everyone has to say.

I read to much some times I think.
I have read so many articles that would have you practically rebuilding a 1911 every 5000 rds. that would be every 6mos or less.

I have a little over 5000 rounds in my Springfield GI .45.  I had a match barrel installed around 2000 rounds, but it was for performance not for reliability or anything like that.  I have no doubt the barrel will continue on just fine.

It primarily shoots Winchester White Box 230gr FMJ, but has had various hallowpoints and other types of FMJ through it.  It only shoots full power or +P loads, not any low power target loads. The only bullet less than 230gr it has shot are the 185gr? Hydra-Shoks I had for a while.   I've only replaced the recoil springs and firing pin springs other than the barrel change.  I run a 17# recoil spring.

It hasn't had a recorded failure of any kind for over 4000 rounds now.

I always lose track or quit counting before 10k rounds. But I always replace all the springs about every third time I replace the firing pin and recoil spring. The Wolff kit is like $17.00 bucks at Brownells.
