On the fence on this. Do they loosen over time with take-down, etc and need re-fitting? Do they really serve a purpose if you aren't shooting IPSC or something? Is this feature worth the extra cash to have it included in my build, why/why not?
If this helps you understand my angle on things: I *86'ed the ambi-safety because I am right-handed, and I view it as a weakness due to it's 2-peice design. That is how I think. |

I've been thinking about adding a magwell to my 2-month old Sig 1911.
My question is: with the experience from building 2 ARs from scratch, will I be able to install the magwell myself or do I have to bring it to a gunsmith since 1911s are a different breed ? I've been searching YouTube for a video to give me an idea how to do it, but so far no luck. Does anybody have a link ? |

I think you could do it, but Wilson Combat could do it better probably. |

it is pretty easy.
I ran A S&A mag funnel for years before I put a file to it to shape the mag funnel to the magazine well. 2 pins have to drifted out that's it. the first is real easy the second a smaller one you have to compress the mainspring and drive out the pin. |

Thanks for the link. It looks fairly simple enough. |
