Anyone know anything about a Colt "Gold Cup Commander" pistol? Was this a limited run model? According to my Dad, he used to have one years ago and is looking for another one. Are they fairly rare?

I see them on gunbroker.com from time-to-time, and I'd bid on one if the price appeared to be right.  Don't know how many were produced, but they command a premium over standard Gold Cups, and the ones for sale are always in very nice condition.

As far as I know the blued Gold Cup Commander was made from 1991 to 1993, the stainless 1991 to 1992.  They are fairly rare items.
