Quoted:
SA makes a Govt., Champion & Micro model in 1911s. I've not heard of a "Ultra" compact from SA but Kimber makes this model. Methinks you may have your mfgr's confused? I've got a SA Ultra Compact on my belt as I type this. They do make em. Think OP was asking about the Compact which had a longer barrel/slide than the Ultra-Compact. Edit to add: been a few years since I've laid eyes on a Compact, they may be discontinued. Try calling Springfield directly, they've been great the couple of times I've called. |
| I believe the compacts are now discontinued. I had one about five years ago and sold it, I have regreted it ever since. They still had them listed sometime last year in stainless only but they were very hard to come by. One of the perfect sized 1911's to carry yet it never really caught on. Kimber makes one as does Wilson and some of the other higher end 1911 companies. |

I found a used one last summer after a long search. In my opinion, it is the perfect size carry 1911.
