Does anyone out there have one?  Tell me about it?

Also, does Para make a 1911 with picatinny rails for lights or other accessories?

I don't have one, so anything I say regarding the so-called "GI EXPERT" will understandably be taken with a grain of salt. I do have some pretty extensive history with Para, and I would neither buy one again nor suggest anyone else do either. My suggestion is that you do a search here, and you'll see what I mean.

I've looked over a used one in like new condition and it seemed to be OK - it had a real nice trigger pull.

I just couldn't get over the cast frame and slide along with the plastic trigger so I left it at the shop...

I have never owned a Para, but I have worked(read: fixed) enough of then to know I do not want one.  The only thing Para has going for them is the wide body frame, if you desire it, and even these have their problems.  The is absolutely no reason to saddle your self with a single stack Para.

Id buy the old Florida pistols, but it ends there. Oh so long as I could find the new HiCap mags. Id find a Para dedicated subforum on one of the 1911 dedicated sites for a better answer. Theres a lot of Para hate around here.

Rock Island makes a wide body frame that uses Para or the MecGar mags.

If you want a GI styled 1911 buy a Springer GI or Milspec. And there is always Colt. Run away from the Para.

Don't sell Para short on that count.  They have spent years cultivating and earning that hate and lack of respect.  They've earned it.
