Is it safe to have the EB Bobtail conversion done on an alloy frame pistol? Will the alloy frame hold up? I've seen a couple of gunsmiths who say they perform the conversion on alloy frames and charge extra, presumably due to refinishing requirements. Any input would be greatly appreciated folks!

ok, let's try this again. Has anyone with an alloy frame 1911 had the Ed Brown Bobtail conversion done on their gun? I have not been able to get any answer from the source as of yet... I've had it done on my Springfield Armory, but it is steel framed and am not sure if I should do it to my Kimber alloy frame...???

Alloy frames are fine, I've Bobtailed many alloy framed guns, Caspian, Colt, Kimber and Springfield.
