Hi all, I am interested in what is involved on a trigger job for my 1911. I have broken the gun down to the frame many times for cleaning and was

wondering what to change to lighten the trigger. Is it neccesary to hire a gun smith? I appolagize in advance for the newb question but I could'nt find

much elsewhere.

thanks, -John

For a GOOD trigger pull let a 1911 smith do the work.  This is not the local parts replacer smith who simply can swap parts in a gun.  A 1911 is an easy gun to screw up if you dont know what your or doing or dont have the correct tools for the job

I have a Kimber Custom II, I sent it to a gunsmith and had him do the job for me.  Cost $35...worked GREAT!  Glad I didn't attempt and possibly screw something up, especially at that price.

Easiest way to lighten:

Cylinder & Slide Sear Spring

For an actual trigger job, you should send it to a smith if you don't know what you're doing.
