just 50 of blazer brass, just one hang up ![]() I remember those days too. You shooting will improve with practice. Mine went from atrocious to now just bad. 45 is too expensive. I got my 1911 for myself as a 21st birthday present to myself (3 years ago). I was so excited after my 1.5 year wait was up (I started saving for a 1911 when I was 19, even though I didn't know what one i wanted) after dropping so much money on the gun I could only afford 50 rounds after I paid the range fee. I bought it from a store with an indoor range. I took the gun form the pick up/ handgun counter right to the range. Mine shot all 50 with out a problem. If you dont already have one I would recommend a .22 auto pistol for cheap practice. |

Zero hangups for me in 60 rounds. Mine's in Geneseo, IL right now getting a make over. Great looking pistol, by the way. ETA: Did you really say P239? Have you been in my safe again? in 9mm, but the G19 is becoming my main carry - i love the hi-caps versus the 8 rd in the SIG. |

I'll trade off capacity for the ability to decock any day of the week for carry. It just feels so much safer to me. I'll try and post some pics when the 1911 comes home (I'd say it's going to be another 3 weeks or so). When she comes home, she's going to have the matte/satin finish. Also, I tried a 18.5 lb Wilson Combat recoil spring and changed out the ILS mainspring housing to an Ed Brown chainlink SS with a 21lb Wolff spring (versus the 28lb stock) and all I can say is... wow, what a difference. Once the 1911 sickness strikes, there's definitely no cure. |
| I carry one just like that on duty. Mine now wears a matte hardchrome job from AP&W, an Ed Brown magwell, and Heinie straight eight night sights. It is scary accurate and no problems of any kind. bought it right after Springfield came out with the loaded models several years ago, and it is an Imbel. Oh and I like the grips. |
