Checking to see if anyone has done this at home and possibly would rent their jig(ifneeded).
My frame is broken at one of the mainspring housing pin holes and I think the best fix would be to bobtail the frame. Is there any way to modify a std MS housing to use an existing part I have here vs buying a $50 housing. Anyone have a used BT housing they would sell?

Its a RMT cast aluminum frame that looks to be too porous, it was broken when I got it. It was holding up with only one tab holding the pin but I took it apart years ago and just never did anything with it...yet. Just got another Ciener 22 kit and figured it would be a good dedicated 22 frame that wouldnt take too bad a beating. OK now all you nosey neighbors who want to know how it broke, I still dont know but now you can give some ideas on how to fix it w/o too much cost  involved. Does anyone know if you could you grind a std MSH down far enough to cover the broke portion of my frame after I trim off both sides , put them together and mill/drill new pin hole.? Wish there was a nylon housing that would work, aluminum would be nice too but the steel housings are really pretty heavy for such a small piece of metal. I think it will hold up with the 22 kit and be nice and light
