The line above the checkering is there as a result of the checkering. Had they cut away metal under the trigger guard after they finished checkering it wouldn't need to be there, and the weapon would be more ergonomic.
ETA: It's a nice gun, I don't mean to be an ass. But that is one of my pet peeves on 1911s. |

Probably Jeff and Jared, they built my GRP. Very nice looking gun BTW. Could you possibly give us a ballpark figure on what a build like that would cost?

Him and his other family member(cant remember who off the top of my head) built my 10-8 1911, I absolutely love her, shes always reliable and scary accurate |

Theres no way I would compare something with a massive clean up line above the checkering to a $4500 pistol. Sorry. Some people like checkering with a definable border and some do not. There is little doubt that Ron can do the checkering any way the customer wants. One must remeber not to confuse poor quality work with work you just don't like. |

I saw higher definition pictures on his and his work is immaculate. |

thanks I know that ion bond is the company just not sure if they took parts direct
and what kind of turnaround and my biggest problem is the take down and reassembly I haven't stripped my Springfield down to nothing but frame yet and would like to know if Ron would do that and then to some of his custom fitting/ |

Yes this pistol is DB from Ion Bond. Ron is out of town til apr 1; ask him if he'll take yours apart and send it off. Ion Bond does not accept work directly, only thru ffls.
Ask Ron for pricing; closer to a grp than a wilson super tactical elite special forces high speed low drag. |

how does it shoot?
