Does anyone make a safety for the 1911 that it always in the fire position?
I guess it wouldn’t really be a safety but more of a safety deactivation kit. |

Take a look at the Para LDA's and just leave the safety off since it is double action it will be safe to carry that way.
Or you can just not fit the safeties properly and they won't work, but I wouldn't want to explain why the weapons safeties are not in working order to a court if i ever used the pistol. If you don't want a grip safety then take a look at Novak's Answer custom pistol. But I would keep the thumb safety for sure, cocked and locked for me thanks. |

1911s deserve safeties.
If you get one with a trigger pull hard enough to mimic your typical double-action pistol, why not just got with the DA? The thumb safety on 1911s also locks the frame in place, so you wouldn't be able to have the "look" and still have a functional firearm. Try an experiment: take your 1911, chamber it, and carry it that way for a week with the thumb safety off. See just how much confidence you have in that grip safety. |

The only safety that I think a 1911 owner could possibly desire to deactivate is the grip safety...however I've never had any issues engaging it so I like having a 2nd safety on my gun. To do that you just need to pin it
If you're wanting to disable the thumb safety I'll let the smilies speak for me ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
